<p>A method and an apparatus for supplying a single crystal raw material for improving heat efficiency and shortening a melting time when a raw material inside an auxiliary crucible is heated by an induction heating system; wherein an electrically conductive carbon cylinder (2) is disposed at a height for covering the entire side wall of the auxiliary crucible (1) when an initial raw material (30a) is at a low temperature and its electric conductivity is relatively low; when an RF current is applied to an RF coil (3), a secondary induction current develops in the carbon cylinder (2) and this carbon cylinder (2) undergoes Joule heating due to the secondary induction current, and the heat of the carbon cylinder (2) is transmitted to the raw material inside the auxiliary crucible through the auxiliary crucible (1) to start melting of the raw material; and, when the raw material is molten, an insulating ceramic table (4) is disposed at a height covering all the side walls of the auxiliary crucible (1) and the conductivity of the raw material gradually rises, therefore, the secondary induction current develops inside the molten raw material (30b), and the molten raw material (30b) itself undergoes Joule heating due to the secondary induction current.</p> |
