A bus selector device (3) is placed independently of a master chip (1) and at a distance substantially equal from the master chip (1) and a plurality of slave chips (2a-2c). When transmitting and receiving a command or data, the master chip (1) supplies the bus selector device (3) with a connection information signal that indicates the connection of buses (B, Ba-Bc) between chips (1, 2a-2). The bus selector device (3) switches and selects the bus connections between chips on the basis of the connection information signal. Therefore, the bus length becomes short and substantially equal for all the chips (1, 2a-2c), and high-speed data transmission can be achieved between chips. Further, the number of pins of the master chip is reduced.
