The invention concerns an electric cable for transporting current from an electrical source to a consumer, having at least one breaking zone wherein is arranged a component (33) for interrupting the current flow. Said component is a semiconductor component capable of being controlled, in particular a semiconductor chip, whereof the contact surfaces used for allowing the current to flow through are associated with the front ends of the cable connecting sections, in the breaking zone, directly by the effect of pressure, so that the incidental heat loss should be as low as possible.
