A floating or movable liner (14) for a closure (20) comprising a compressible plastic which includes an upper member (52), such as a disk, and a depending member (56) with a pre-configured profile, preferably an annular bead, at the periphery thereof. The liner is insertable into and moves or floats within the upper portion of the closure. The disk and bead are adapted to provide a pre-configured, thickened portion (54) at and adjacent the periphery of the liner to provide sealing even when the top of the closure flexes upwardly or downwardly.
