The use of epiallopregnanolone (3.beta.-hydroxy-5.alpha.-pregnan-20-one) for the treatment of inter alia steroid induced mood disorders and CNS disorders is disclosed. Further, the use of epiallopregnanolone for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals is disclosed, together with a list of symptoms suitable for treatment with epiallopregnanolone or pharmaceuticals comprising the same.
