Semiconductor disc memory for information processing device

The semiconductor disc memory (1) has an interface section (3,6) for connection to the information processing device (2), a memory section (4) with at least one sector in which address information for defective memory sectors is stored and a control section (7-12) for transfer of data between the information processing device and the memory section, via the interface section. The logic sector addresses are converted into physical sector addresses using an address conversion table generated using the defective memory sector information. An Independent claim is also included for the generation of a logic/physical address conversion table.
