Multiple range terminal for mobile and fixed telephone network

The terminal (DMH) has access lines to a public mobile radio network (PLMN) and to a fixed network (PSTN). A mobile network exit message is sent when the terminal enters into the range of the fixed network and a mobile network entry message is sent when the terminal exits the fixed network range. Preferably, the transmission of the messages can be switched off. A home location register (HLR) is provided at the mobile radio network side for storing subscriber availability information. The register sets or delets information indicating the availability of the terminal in the mobile radio network according to an exit or entry message.
