Method for realistically simulating a real fabric made of warp and weft yarns

A woven fabric consisting of a pattern of warp and weft yarns is represented visually by first capturing or representing the pattern to a data processing installation. The crossing pattern is then worked out and the shapes of the warp and weft threads determined, taking into account yarn and fabric property parameters and correcting them for dynamic behaviour. The corrected course of the warp and weft yarns is then displayed optically. Also claimed is a similar method where the weave, including the crossing pattern, is already stored and/or represented in a data processing installation.
