<p>A combination tool exchanger and storage device adapted to be fitted to a die cutter for exchanging and storing a plurality of profiled cutter dies (8) each having a cutter blade (11) of a different configuration. The die cutter is for cutting a sheet-like material (50) by urging the sheet-like material (50) against a selected one of the profiled cutter dies (8) retained within a cutter die mounting chamber (3). The combination tool exchanger and storage device (A) includes retaining arms (4) for holding one of the profiled cutter dies (8) so as to confront a first entrance (9) leading to the cutter die mounting chamber (2) and for sliding the profiled cutter die (8) horizontally towards the cutter die mounting chamber (2), a cutter die storage chamber (3) disposed above or below the die cutter, and an elevator unit (7, 60) for selectively driving the retaining arms (4) between a first position aligned with the first entrance (9) leading to the cutter mounting chamber (2) and a second position aligned with a second entrance (10) leading to the cutter die storage chamber (3). <IMAGE></p> |
