An apparatus for the needling of a preconsolidated nonwoven web 9 is described, with at least one needle board 1 capable of being driven to and fro in the pricking direction, with a stitch base 7 located opposite the needle board 1 and with a discontinuous feed drive 10 for the nonwoven web 9, said feed drive being provided between the stitch base 7 and a continuously driveable roller take-up. In order to afford advantageous design conditions, it is proposed that the discontinuous feed drive 10 consist of a conveying ram 11 which is capable of being driven to and fro in phase opposition to the needle board 1 and which is guided displaceably, in the run-through direction 15 of the nonwoven web 9, essentially parallel to a run-off surface 13 for the nonwoven web 9, said run-off surface being connected to the stitch base 7 via a deflection 14, and, on the side facing the run-off surface 13, has a frictional resistance relative to the nonwoven web 9 which is higher in the conveying direction than opposite to the conveying direction. <IMAGE> |
