The valve unit (10) has two main channels (12,14) connected to two main feed or return pipes of a hydraulic motor and a connecting duct (20). The connecting duct is able to link the two channels (12,14) when the fluid pressures in them are more or less equal and separate them from one another when the pressures differ. The unit incorporates delay elements (39,41,46,48), and the connecting duct can have a calibrated restriction (21).
