Supported superconducting device comprising a tubular support with a first layer of ceramic, glassy or glass ceramic material adhered to inner wall of the tubular support, the first layer embedding a superconducting material centrally arranged within the material of the first layer having a minimum expansion coefficient and being enforced with pore filling material.
