Steering valve with activation threshold

The valve has a torsionally stiff element (9) which is flexible in the axial direction. The element is fixed by one end on the input shaft (2) and by its other end is connected to a locking device (10) up to a prescribed torque owing to a radial displacement in relation to the valve sleeve (5), which converts torque acting on the input shaft into axial forces acting upon the elastic element up to the release position. The torsion element can consist of a leaf or dish spring, a torsionally stiff spiral spring or a metal concertina. The torsion element is welded to the input shaft or can be attached by a support ring.
