PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing dioxins from a dust-contg. waste gas and a device therefor. SOLUTION: This device 10 is a waste gas treating device for subjecting the dust-contg. waste gas discharged from an incinerator and a heating furnace to a supercritical water reaction to remove dioxins. The device is provided with a cooler 12 for cooling the dust-contg. waste gas, a compressor 14 for compressing the dust-contg. waste gas to the pressure of a supercritical water reaction condition, a supercritical water reactor 16 for subjecting the compressed dust-contg. waste gas to the supercritical water reaction, a gas-liq. separator 18 for separating the reaction product discharged from the reactor into gas and liq. and discharging a dioxin-free waste gas after treating and a solid-liq. separator 20 for separating the residue leaving the reactor into solid and liq. and discharging the dust contained in the waste gas.
