PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a DNA capable of simultaneously performing the assay and sex discrimination of blastocyst with an extraneous gene incorporated in the chromosome by PCR technique, and to provide a method for selecting a transgenic embryo using the above DNA. SOLUTION: This DNA has PCR primer sequences for a necessary sex- specific DNA on both ends of a DNA fragment of an extraneous gene. The objective method for selecting a transgenic embryo comprises simultaneously performing, using the above DNA, both the assay and sex discrimination of an embryo with an extraneous gene transferred into the chromosome. Thereby, the assay of extraneous gene transfer and sex discrimination can be performed easily, accurately, and simultaneously; furthermore, this method enables the number of recipients necessary for transplantation to be reduced, being useful as a means for creating transgenic animals in a high efficiency. |
