PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a mold body, and the mold body which is provided with an inner wear protecting layer composed of a chromium and is used for continuous casting equipment and is composed of a hardenable copper alloy and executes the shaping action. SOLUTION: Solution treatment is executed to the mold body 1 and successively, the wear protecting layer 7 is formed on the mold body 1 and thereafter, the mold body 1 is hardened. In the mold body 1, the hardness of the wear protecting layer 7 is reduced from the surface 8 at the strand side to the direction of the mold body 1. The wear protecting layer 7 is composed of two chromium layers 9, 10 having the different hardness, and the hardness of the chromium layer 9 is 500 HV-850 HV and the hardness of the chromium layer 10 is 850 HV-1050 HV. |
