PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish compatibly the prevention of slipping-off of a shaft sealing device from a housing accommodation chamber and easy assembling to the accommodation chamber. SOLUTION: A shaft sealing device 40 has a first ring-shaped protruding strap 451 as a fitting projection capable of elastic deformation and a second 452 and a third ring-shaped protruding strap 453 as seal projections capable of elastic deformation. The protruding amounts h1, h2, h3 of the three ring- shaped protruding straps are equal. A ring-shaped groove 39 is formed at the internal circumferential wall 37 of an accommodation chamber 36. When the shaft sealing device 40 is press fitted into the chamber 36, the second and third protruding straps 452 and 453 are crushed in amount corresponding to the interferences t2 and t3 in fitting, and pressure contacting to the circumferential wall 37 is generated. Meantime the first protruding strap 451 is contracted temporarily under the press fitting operation in an amount corresponding to the shrinking margin t1, but when the press fitting is completed, the original protruding amount h1 is restored within the groove 39, and engagement to the engaging surface 39a is accomplished. |
