PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guiding member for a fishing line, having a strength and luster rich in high class feeling, hardly providing a damage to the fishing line and excellent in abrasion resistance by forming the guiding member out of an alumina ceramic having each prescribed value of Vickers hardness and the maximum void diameter. SOLUTION: This guiding member is composed of an alumina ceramic having >=18 GPa Vickers hardness, <=0.5 μm maximum void diameter on a sliding face, and preferably <=1 μm average crystal grain diameter and >=700 MPa folding endurance. The guiding member 1 for the fishing line is preferably produced by casting a slurry dispersing an alumina raw material powder into a molding mold with a prescribed shape, compacting the raw material powder by an centrifugal power caused by rotating the molding mold, firing the obtained compact and subjecting the fired compact to an HIP treatment. |
