Control of forward and reverse motion of vehicle with automatic transmission

Two pedals (22, 40) are fixed to a common bar (36) connected by shafts (31, 32) to an axle (25) and output linkage (33). The larger pedal (40) is flexibly mounted and is operated by the sole of the foot to control forward speed. The rigid pedal (22) is operated by the heel to control reverse movement. The maximum ratio between forward and reverse speeds is set by adjustable stops (23, 24).
