MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY, HYBRID CELL, AND PRODUCTION OF MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a monoclonal antibody specifically recognizing an argpyrimidine structure possessed by a methylglyoxal adduct when paying attention to the adduct of methylglyoxal and argentine which is one of a constituent amino acid of a protein or a peptide, and further to obtain a hybrid cell and to provide a method for producing the monoclonal antibody. SOLUTION: This monoclonal antibody can specifically recognize an argpyrimidine structure. The preparation of the monoclonal antibody is carried out by fusing an antibody-producing cell obtained from a homoiothermic animal immunized by a protein modified by methylglyoxal, preferably methylglyoxal- modified keyhole limpet hemocyanin, with myeloma cell to provide a hybrid cell, and producing the monoclonal antibody specifically recognizing the argyrimidine structure from the obtained hybrid cell.
