PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve resistance against molten steel wear and alumina deposition by forming zirconia coat on the surface of the material consisting of fireproof material and carbonaceous material. SOLUTION: As the zirconia material used for the coating, zirconia or calcia/ zirconia material is preferable. The coating is done by brushing, etc., the zirconia powder suspended in proper liquid or paste substance. Since there is a danger of the coat being separated after dried, the adhesion with the base material is improved by adding glue-like substance. For this reason, it is preferable to suspend the zirconia powder in paint, water glass or sodium silicate aqueous solution. As the paint, synthetic resin type paint is good because the zirconia powder suspended in it is difficult to be separated and the adhesion with the carbonaceous material is good. To suspend the zirconia powder in the water glass or sodium silicate aqueous solution, it is added in industrial water glass as it is or solved in water and stirred. |
