MODULAR IMAGE FORMING/THERAPEUTIC CATHETER ASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new improved catheter assembly that mounts an ultrasonic image making device and a device for medical care within a unit and its assembling method. SOLUTION: In this catheter assembly, image making transducer 12 is set near the device for medical care at the distal end of catheter 11. A circling path is shaped between marker tube 24 that extends itself through the transducer 12 and guide wire tube 29 that goes through the marker tube 24. Plenum chamber that is made as it is connected with a fluid lumen and the pass for circulation between the further end of the catheter 11 and the nearer end between the markers. The circling path and the plenum chamber make the unrestricted flow between the fluid lumen of the catheter 11 and the device for medical care. Each of the catheter 11, device 13 for medical care and the transducer 12 is composed as a modular unit that can be put together to compose the composition.
