摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly detect the generation of pre-ignition by a knock sensor. SOLUTION: The generation of knocking is judged when the peak output value Vp of a knock sensor is judged larger than the value ofαtimes of the average value BG of the peak output value of the knock sensor in a normal combustion (step 10), air-fuel ratio AF1 is measured (step 12), phase lag of ignition timing is conducted (step 16). When an increase in vibration peak is judged as a result of comparison of the vibration peaks before and after the phase lag (step 20), the air fuel ratio AF2 is measured (step 22), and the comparison of air fuel ratio before and after the phase lag (step 24). If the air fuel ratio becomes small, it is judged that pre-ignition was generated. Based on this judgement, necessary measures are taken (step 26).
