PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a collagen maintaining a structure of a natural collagen, unmodified as much as possible, hardly inducing allergy and hardly containing undesirable impurities and contaminants. SOLUTION: This native collagen has chemical properties such as (1) at minimum 12%, preferably >=13% hydroxyproline content, (2) at minimum 16.2%, preferably >=17.5% total nitrogen content, and (3) <20% remaining water content, and a triple helix structure, is pure, does not require cross-linking treatment and has properties not inducing allergy. The collagen preparation is obtained by optionally adding a pharmaceutically active material thereto. |
