PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the total treatment speed of a magnetic separator eliminating the need of stopping the treatment at the time of backward washing since the separator can continuously be operated. SOLUTION: In this separator, adsorbing matrix groups 4a, 4b are installed at the edges of air-core electromagnets 9a, 9b and the magnetic field of the air-core electromagnet 9a is made larger than that of the air-core electromagnet 9b to continuously or intermittently move the adsorbing matrix groups 4a, 4b. In this way, without stopping water to be treated, continuous operation of adsorption and backward washing can be performed. |
