The invention relates to rail transport, namely to the weight transfer devices. A weight transfer device contains a cylinder with a cover and a piston. A stock of cylinder is connected by a fork, a lever and a bracket with a suspension. The rollers of suspension may be moved in runners welded to a frame of locomotive. The lever may return relative to the axis through a rod and the rollers. In accordance with the invention, between the cylinder cover and piston a release spring is installed. The cylinder is connected with a velocity meter through a control unit and a magnetic valve. The invention provides for highly effective operation of the weight transfer device by its automated turning off.
