PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject accelerator having an action for stimulating the decomposition of lipid by including the extract of a Prerseae plant. SOLUTION: This accelerator for the decomposition of lipid comprises an extract obtained by extracting the fruit, pericarp or leaves of a Prerseae plant, preferably Persea americana belonging to the genus Machilus shearieri, Persea, with water or a hydrophilic organic solvent such as an alcohol and, if necessary, subsequently suitably subjecting the extract to concentration, purification, sterilization and/or drying treatments. When the accelerator is used for a skin preparation for external use, the extract is preferably added in an amount of 0.001-30.0 wt.% converted into the dry product. The addition of an ingredient selected from a xanthine derivative (for example, caffeine), a β-adrenaline action- accelerator (for example, isoproterenol), α 2-adrenaline action-inhibiting agent and a pyridine derivative (for example, yohimibine) to the extract gives a more excellent skin preparation for lean figure and for external use. |
