摘要 PURPOSE:To evaluate every kind of color shading of a color image signal from a color image pickup element quantitatively by detecting every kind of color shading by making into numeric values by plural color shading evaluation devices, finding the sum of the values after standardizing by multipying the numeric value of detected color shading by a coefficient, and deciding the normal/defective condition of the color shading based on whether the value of the sum exceeds or less than a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:Color image data R, G, and B read out from a color image data source 10 are supplied to an HLS conversion part 20, and are converted to a hue image data H, lightness image data L, and saturation image data S, and are stored in hue data memory 30H, lightness data memory 30L, and saturation data memory 30S, respectively. An arithmetic part 31 fractionizes the saturation image data S in the saturation data memory 30S into blocks KB consisting of picture elements, and reads out the saturation image data S at every block, and calculates mean saturation in each block KB, and extracts and stores the maximum value of the mean saturation of the block KB. Also, the part calculates the sum of all obtained maximum mean saturation, and outputs the sum as fundamental coloring degree Ts. Thereby, it is possible to evaluate every kind of color shading of the color image from the color image pickup element quantitatively.
