The cable module assembly method uses a number of magazines (3) holding different cable types, a respective assembly device (5) for fitting each plug housing (9) with plug contacts (1) and a program-controlled assembly station (4) fitted with the cable magazines and assembly devices corresponding to a selected cable module type, before fitting the plug contacts of the cables extracted from the cable magazines in the plug housings. An Independent claim for an assembly station for manufacture of cable modules is also included.
