The drive roller bearing (11) with an outer ring (13) and the drive roll (10) serving as inner ring is produced with a new method in order to extend its life span without causing an increase of the costs for its production. The item is forged in a first step, then pressed and again forged. Its shape is changed into an arched area, the traction surface (23), with a central bore (22) and a groove (24). The item is now punched and the last steps include machining and heating.
