Automatic shifting gearbox, especially for cars

The gearbox has two force paths, a gear reducer unit and a hydrodynamic machine which is located in one of the force paths. The hydrodynamic machine is designed and arranged so that it serves as a synchronizing device, and as a braking device for the car. The hydrodynamic machine can be activated or deactivated by gear shifting or filling and emptying or by separation of the drive wheel and driven wheel or by bridging via a clutch. To create the synchronism of the claw clutch involved in the circuit, a control device is provided with which a changeover can be produced according to a signal formed from instantaneous values of influencing parameters.
