The suspension has a control arm (1) with a vertical axis (28) transverse to a roll axis (29) and displaced with respect to the wheel axles in the longitudinal direction. The control arm is pivotably attached to the vehicle body near the longitudinal central plane and vertical axis, and has a sprung support in a region near the wheels. The control arm is flexibly supported near the vertical axis with respect to pivotal movements about the roll axis by a damper element (36). The hydraulic damper opposes rotation of an electric or hydraulic motor.
