The switched network is supplied from the AC network via a rectifier (D1-D4) preceded by a choke coil (L1), with a controlled switch (V1) in parallel with an energy storage device (D5,C1,C2,D6) across the rectifier output. The choke coil has an auxiliary winding (L1s) coupled to a signal evaluation stage (3) coupled to the control circuit (2) for the controlled switch.
