The cradle is adapted to receive and retain the telephone in a locked condition, until an appropriate force is applied to the releasing button. The cradle comprises a base frame (1) and a cover for receiving a telephone. A locking part (4) retains the telephone, and an ejector section (3) is provided for causing the locking part to move from a locking to a release position. The operation requires force to be applied to a button (2), in which the force is transferred to the ejector section. This causes rotation of the ejector, causing a force to be applied to the locking part, and make a hook (41) retract. The base also includes sprung ejectors (6,7) to ease the release of the telephone. The movement of the ejector button is limited by a slot (34) interacting with a stud on the base. The button and the locking part are sprung such that the hook is retained in the locking position unless a force is applied to the button.
