The adjustable damping valve(15) with equal-sided spring deflection and excursion of the piston rod(7) on one axle of the vehicle, or with one-sided excursion, has a damping force setting which is smaller than the damping force of the additional damping valves(35,39). On one axle of the vehicle the damping force setting with a one-sided spring deflection of the piston rod is greater on the adjustable damping valve than the setting of the additional valves.
