The dump truck has a chassis (4) and a dump body (6, 6.2) on it for the load. For unloading, the dump body is turned about a transverse axis at the rear of the chassis. Its cross section is semicircular or U-shaped. The dump body has an integrated load impact damping mechanism (D, 18.1, D1, D2) fitted to at least one part sector of its bottom region (B).
