An operating device (3) has a surface which acts as a reflector, and which is at right angles to the lifting direction of the dispenser. The dispenser has a holder which includes a light barrier (6) that cooperates with the reflector. The reflector surface may be arranged on a ring (4) made of plastics, metal etc. The light barrier produces signals to indicate the filling of a glass, and to indicate a bottle change.
