The valve comprises a small ring seal acting on an injector tip, backed by a pressure relief section connected to an injection manifold, preventing any high pressure leakage gases from causing costly damage. The valve casing (4), has a section of maximum diameter, a minor conical support/sealing transition (6), a large diameter section (3) and a small diameter tip (10). A seal (12) acts between an injector tip (10) and the small diameter bore (9). A pressure relief channel (17) connects a relief space to the inlet manifold.
