An elliptically shaped hollow space (3) is positioned inside the bristle carrying part (5) of the toothbrush (1) accommodating a ball (2) and/or a fluid. When the toothbrush (1) is moved along the teeth during the cleaning process the ball (2) and/or the fluid execute an elliptical motion. The user is reminded to brush his/her teeth in the recommended way. When the brush (1) is pushed too hard, the ball (2) or the fluid stops moving, signaling that there is a danger for the gum to be injured.
