At least one hole(20) is made in a component(14) of the vehicle's structure(12) by means of a flow boring process. The hole has a collar(22) encircling it. A further hole(24) is made in the structure, and a spigot(30) on the attachment component(10) fits into the first hole, after which the component is screwed to the second hole by self-tapping screws. The first hole is made in a hollow component in the structure and the collar extends into the hollow component's interior. An Independent claim is included for an attachment component which has at least one spigot and at least one fixing hole(34).
