The generator has a rotor (2) with a pair of opposing magnetic poles (3N,3S), each provided with a number of claw sections , with permanent magnets (5) fitted between them, secured by an inner permanent magnet retaining element (62) and an outer retaining element (61) for securing the permanent magnets during the rotor rotation, which is made from a non-magnetic material.
