The length and/or time sequence of the signals, transmitted by the digital circuit (10) forms the rate for the analog signals to be supplied to the analog component (20). The signals are transmitted in a pulse width modulation mode. Pulse time and pulse code modulating modes may be also used. The signals are typically transmitted over a two-wire line and are converted into analog signal in the analog component.
