The adapter has a top frame (11) with fasteners (12) to connect it to the boom, and a lower frame (13) with coupling elements (14) for connection to the working appliance. The lower frame is connected to the upper frame so that it can be pivoted side wards about a first pivot axis. Pivoting is via hydraulic cylinders (16a), fastened to upper and lower frames. A quick-change attachment (19) for the working appliances has a hydraulic locking device (20).
