An edge protection strip comprises a plastic band (TB) with an adhesive coating (HK) made of a releasable adhesive with a cover film (F1,F2) that can be pulled off. The plastic carrier band width equals that of the object to be protected. The central region of the carrier band has an L-shaped plastic strip (PS) with a long shank (SL) whose length covers the side surface width of the object.
