An air conditioning unit (1) having a structure that prevents deformation of and damage to a steering beam (4) caused by the air conditioning unit (1) in the event of a collision with a high degree of reliability is provided. A stress concentrating structure that lowers the dynamic strength of the air conditioning unit (1) relative to the deformation load of the steering beam (4) is formed in a portion of the air conditioning unit (1) located within the range over which the steering beam (4) is projected and an air intake portion (14) where an air blower is provided is positioned lower than the range over which the steering beam (4) is projected. As a result, the air conditioning unit (1) becomes destroyed before the steering beam (4) becomes deformed, and since the air intake portion (14) provided with the air blower having a high degree of dynamic strength is not within the range over which the steering beam (4) is projected, the air conditioning unit (1) can be destroyed at a load that is lower than the deformation load of the steering beam (4), to prevent deformation of and damage to the steering beam (4).
