The fibers are connected at chosen angles, and cut at specified angle to ensure signal transfer. The optical fiber probe includes first (1) and second (4) optical fibers whose ends are directed towards a sensor (3). The optical fibers and the sensor are held in cutout parts of a support. The first fiber transmits a first light signal (2) to excite the sensor, which then returns a second light signal (5) through the second fiber. To increase the useful amplitude of the second signal, the fibers are arranged in such a way that their longitudinal axes form a first predetermined angle (10) between 0 degrees and 180 degrees . This allows optimization of the surface (7) of the sensor for return of the second signal in response to a detected parameter. The two fibers are symmetrically placed with respect to an axis directed normally to the sensor surface. The ends of the fibers are cut at an angle which is equal to half that of the first predetermined angle.
