摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the humid state of an electrolyte without providing a humidifier that requires water refilling and heating and has a complicated structure and control the temperature of a fuel cell body with a simple structure by supplying water in a liquid state to the surface of an air electrode installed along with a fuel electrode. SOLUTION: A solid high molecular electrolyte film 12 and a fuel electrode 13 to be connected to a hydrogen supplying system 20 are clamped, and a water supplying system 40 composed of a tank 42, a pump 116, a hydraulic sensor 47 and a pressure regulating valve 48 is joined to a nozzle 41 attached to a manifold 14 above an air electrode 11 connected to an air supplying system 30. The supplied water from the nozzle 41 to the air electrode 11 is preferably formed into a mist-like form, takes latent heat from process air effectively, and is intermittently supplied and thereby, the power consumption of the pump 46 and the like is reduced. If an auxiliary humidifying machine is not used and the water produced by the reaction between fuel gas and air maintain the humid state of the electrolyte film 12, the supplied water prevents the surface on the air electrode 11 side of the electrolyte film 12 from being dried. In addition, the supplied water cools a fuel cell body 10 and dispenses with a cooling plate.
