MANUFACTURE OF NOZZLE PLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance image quality by preventing defective ink jet. SOLUTION: Laser light is generated from a laser oscillator 41 and passed through the opening of a mask by moving the mask between the laser oscillator 41 and a work 49. The work 49 is irradiated with the laser light passed through the opening and a tapered face is formed. Since a nozzle is provided with a tapered face when it is formed on a nozzle plate, ink in an ink pressure chamber flows smoothly along the tapered face at the time of jetting an ink drop from the nozzle. Since no air bubble stands at a flat part on the rear surface of the nozzle plate, the ink pressure chamber can be pressurized sufficiently and defective ink jet is prevented resulting in the enhancement of image quality.
