SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a belt-like image carrier 1 rotated in a state where it is laid over at least two rollers 3 and 5, and a cleaning means 11 removing developer on the image carrier 1. The image carrier 1 is laid in an up-and-down direction by the upper and the lower rollers 3 and 5, and the cleaning means 11 is provided near the upper roller 3 on a plane where the image carrier 1 is moved upward from the downside. A resist sensor 131 is provided near the image carrier 1 and a paper feeding path S is provided between the image carrier 1 and the sensor 131.
