The present invention relates to the major allergenic protein Lol pI from pollen of ryegrass, Lolium perenne L. and to derivatives and homologues thereof and to allergenic proteins immunologically related thereto. More particularly, the present invention is directed to recombinant Lol pI, and its derivatives, and to an expression vector capable of directing synthesis of same. Even more particularly, the present invention is directed to cDNA encoding Lol pI and to its promoter and to an expression vector comprising same.
